Haiku Ceiling Fan: Quiet & Efficient

Big Ass Fan recently debuted the Haiku, a ceiling fan they deem as the quietest and most energy efficient fan in the world. An award winning motor delivers silent operation, and because each fan is individually balanced, it won’t wobble or rattle.

Available in bamboo (caramel or cocoa finishes) and matrix composite (black or white), the Haiku uses 80% less energy than conventional ceiling fans. According to Big Ass Fan:

The average ENERGY STAR® residential fan utilizes 65 W of electrical input power. In contrast, Haiku fans only use 2 to 30 W, exceeding the ENERGY STAR requirements for watts per CFM by 450 to 750%. In a typical year, Haiku would use about 50kWh, for a cost of around $5.

The Haiku is not available yet, but they are taking pre-orders.
