Zach T. Smith

Zach has 15 years of home building experience in the custom residential construction business. In addition to construction experience, he is also an established fine arts painter that has exhibited his work internationally. It is a rarity in the building trade to find a builder that not only understands the facets of the construction process, but also has an artistic eye for design, space, and finish details. This unique marriage of formal knowledge and artistic experience contributes to beautiful, yet timeless homes supported by successful process of work with clients.

After graduating from University of Georgia with a BA degree, Zach immediately began working for one of Atlanta’s premiere homebuilders. Within a few years, Zach was a senior construction manager overseeing projects in Atlanta’s notable communities, while maintaining his artistic career, painting at night and on weekends. Smith has been represented by one of the leading galleries in the southeast.

Seeking to fill the need for high design houses, driven by his love of building and hope for a creative outlet, Zach formed his own company building classic fine homes and renovations. Smith believes his strengths lie in his ability to listen to the expressed needs of the client and bring those visions to fruition.

Zach Smith and Jeff Dinkle, long time friends and respective builders, had many discussions on the future of building, their strengths and their weaknesses in search of a ‘’complete package’’: a design build firm that would offer clients a refreshingly new builder-client relationship, with an emphasis on exceptional design and sustainable construction methods, cutting edge techniques and high performance houses. In early 2011, Zach joined Jeff at Eco Custom Homes. With several projects completed and recent future projections, the partnership continues to represent an amazing combination of multiple talents at work, serving clients both comprehensively and uniquely.

Zach resides with his wife Monika and their 3 boys in Sandy Springs. They are active in the community, and Zach donates art for auction to several nonprofit organizations annually.
